Acne formation -

Acne generally appears on Face, chest, back, shoulders and neck region. Our skin consists of hair follicles (a tiny tunnel that consists a hair and oil producing glands) except in few areas of our body like lips, palms of hand and soles of our feet. Each of the pores on our skin is actually an opening to those hair follicles.

The sebum produced by the sebaceous glands in hair follicle on one hand responsible for keeping the skin moisturized and hydrated whereas in some cases it is the sebum produced by those sebaceous glands are the culprits for the formation of Acne.

The excess sebum or oil clog the pores and the dead skin cells gets trapped inside the hair follicle. The dead skin cells, sebum and the hair together forms a plug that attracts bacteria and gets infected which results in swelling or follicles to get inflamed.
