How does Aloe Vera helps in natural acne treatment?

Though Aloe Vera has natural healing properties that accelerates the skin improvement in case of burns, inflammation, cuts, pigmentation in some cases but it should not be mistaken as a treatment for Acne. To be very specific, Aloe Vera does not cure Acne. It only helps healing the broken skin happened condition due to acne lesions.

It also helps reducing the swelling, redness and inflammation occurred due to acne. Aloe vera does not penetrate the skin pores, hence it is not of much help for unbroken skin, whereas it enters the broken skin, and accelerates the healing process of the skin cells. The glycoproteins presents in Aloe Vera stimulates the production of collagen beneath the skin that helps heal the scars. Other compounds present in Aloe Vera helps fight inflammation and certain forms of infection.

Aloe Vera also helps prevent skin discoloration after acne heals but the only necessary thing that you have to keep in mind that you have to keep applying the Aloe Vera gel while acne is healing. Once the pigmentation changes of your skin has occured, Aloe Vera can't revert the status.

How to use Aloe Vera for Acne treatment?

There are several Aloe Vera gel available over the counter and you can apply that or if you have an Aloe Vera plant in your house that will be more helpful as you can apply the natural gel present inside the leaf without any chemical processing.

Steps to use Aloe Gel over the Acne lesion
  1. Use any mild exfoliant to wash your face.
  2. Take about 1 inches of the Aloe Vera leaf. Slice the leaf horizontally with a sharp knife.
  3. Scoop up the clear sap present inside the leaf and apply it directly over your entire face or acne spot.
  4. Keep rubbing it until the skin surface dries up to normal. 
You are done. For better result, apply twice.
